dairy-free, refined sugar-free chocolate? yes please!

Updated: Nov 5, 2018

So the other night I had a HUGE chocolate craving and I decided to make Salted Coconut "Bark".

I had all 5 ingredients in my pantry, it took me 2 minutes to whip up and was ready to eat within 20 minutes (quicker than getting to the shops, smashing a block of cadbury's and feeling bad about it for the next 2 hours!) This recipe is dairy free, refined sugar free and full of good fats and antioxidants. Perfect. SALTED COCONUT BARK Ingredients: 5 Prep Time: #2Minutes Ready In: #20Minutes

🌿INGREDIENTS🌿 ✖️ 1/2 Cup @bioglanau Cacao ✖️ 1/2 Cup @bioglanau Organic Coconut Oil ✖️ 1/4 Cup 100% Natural Maple Syrup OR 1/4 Cup Raw Honey (plus extra to "swirl" through) ✖️ A handful of shredded coconut (or crushed peanuts... or anything else you like) ✖️ Pink Rock Salt ✖️ OPTIONAL - Anything you like to add more flavour: Natural Peanut Butter, Crushed Nuts, Goji Berries, Dates etc. 🌿METHOD🌿 ✖️ Melt Coconut Oil in a saucepan. ✖️ Add Cacao & Maple Syrup/Honey, mixing till VERY well combined (particularly if you are using Honey). ✖️ Line a square Baking Tin with Baking Paper & pour your Chocolate mix into it. ✖️ Add handfuls of Shredded Coconut evenly over the mix (as much or as little as you like) & if you like it sweet - swirl some extra honey over it all too*. ✖️ Add any extra ingredients & sprinkle the Salt over the top too. ✖️ Store flat in the freezer for at least 15 minutes, don't remove until ready to eat - it melts fairly quickly! ✖️ Break apart into "Bark Shards" ✖️ Sprinkle with Salt to serve!

*If using honey instead of maple syrup, ensure it is evenly distributed. If not, the chocolate will taste quite bitter - it needs a little sweet kick <3

Enjoy!
